Insight & Inspiration.

insight-inspiration:

I post this because I’ve been there. Because people need to be able feel they can reach out and tell someone how they truly feel without shame. Mental illness is so serious and it’s time to open our eyes. It’s sad it’s taken a story of such an icon of comedy&laughter that deep down was a truly sad soul with such turmoil & demons he felt he couldn’t overcome so he found death to be the answer to make this a topic of conversation. Learn from this. People wear masks. They hide behind a face of false emotion, often of happiness. Be kind, care about how people genuinely feel. And talk to someone, anyone, if you feel so broken that you don’t want to walk this earth any longer. Because I’m here to tell you that it gets better. That dark, dull, fading light gets brighter. It does. Reach for it.

-this is not because I know robin, because I don’t. It’s because I am far too familiar with the mask of laughter and of happiness that is worn to hide our pain. it’s to all the people suffering in silence. And ones we’ve lost from this battle against mental illness that are nameless & faceless to us because they were not in the public eye; it’s also for the ones who were. Depression, anxiety, eating disorders, mental disorders of all kinds do not discriminate. Do not be fooled. Take a stand, love the ones around you and be a source of light. Find that glimmer of hope in your darkest hours and do not let go.

Suicide is never the answer; don’t be afraid to reach out, help is waiting for you.

People are afraid to wear them..

Successful birthday with my favorite person, my favorite moments having to be when she K.O. at the end of the day. It’s the little things, really. My birthday may have been unconventional for a typical 22 year old, but successful. 💜💖

It was my birthday. And I actually got very few personal birthday messages from people I thought I knew, and just in general. And I made the harsh realization that I lack connections with people these days. And then I thought about the few messages I did get. And they mean everything. Absolutely everything.

Fuck yeah you go girl.

“For a wound to heal, you have to clean it out. Again, and again, and again. And this cleaning process stings. The cleaning of a wound hurts. Yes. Healing takes so much work. So much persistence. And so much patience. But every process has an end and an appointed term. Your healing will come, God willing. And like all created things, your worldly pain will die.”
